Eye Candy: Kellan Lutz in The Legend of Hercules

6'1" Kellan Christopher Lutz was born in 1985 in Dickinson, North Dakota.

Lutz modelled as a teenager and his first acting role was in a 2004 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful.  His "big break" came in 2008 when he was cast in the Twilight film series.

Hercules was not Lutz' first sword and sandal outing.  He played Poseidon in Tarsem Singh's Immortals (2011).

Lutz is now well-known as a Calvin Klein underwear model.  He certainly has the body of a god even if he doesn't look remotely Greek.

Eye Candy: Channing Tatum in The Eagle

6'1" Channing Matthew Tatum was born April 26, 1980 in Alabama.

Tatum's first "big break" was being cast as a dancer in Ricky Martin's "She Bangs" music video.  From there, he went on to work as a model and an actor in commercials.

These images are of Tatum as Marcus Flavius Aquila in The Eagle.  His impressive physique and experience as a dancer make him a perfect choice for sword and sandal films.  I hope he'll be able to do more of them.

Eye Candy: Steve Reeves as Hercules

6'1" Steve Reeves became Mr. Universe in 1950.  He became interested in bodybuilding as a teenager and promoted natural bodybuilding throughout his life. He had a difficult time in Hollywood where most people appreciated him only for his body and not his acting ability.  The film that made him truly famous was 1958's Hercules.  Reeves would go on to star in the sequel the following year and then appeared as a slew of other muscled heroes in Italian epics through the late 1960s. He died of lymphoma in 2000 on the same day that Ridley Scott's Gladiator premiered.

Eye Candy: Tony Curtis in Spartacus

Tony Curtis was born Bernard Herschel Schwartz in June 1925.  He had a decades-long film career from the 1940s until his death in 2010.  He starred opposite Kirk Douglas in The Vikings and then again as Antoninus to Douglas' Spartacus in Spartacus.  In Spartacus, he starred with Laurence Olivier in the infamous "oysters and snails" scene that was originally removed for its homosexual connotations. Curtis was famously married six times including to Janet Leigh, with whom he is the father of Jamie Lee Curtis.  Curtis was a true Hollywood legend and he will be sorely missed.
